Description

My entry for a "technology" competition held at :iconthe3dartistclub:

Details:

This is visualization of my fav pocketpc device; still perfectly working after about 6 years of intensive usage :)

Device was precisely measured with caliper, so all I can say- it's 99% physically correct :)

Modeled in SolidWorks, then exported to 3dmax. Rendered with Vray with photometric lights and global illumination. Lighting only of a scene correctly took few days of hits and misses. Final render took about three hours. Last touches done in Photoshop (merged hdri and normal layers).

Image suffers a bit from compression, but if you look closely I'm sure that you will notice separate rgb pixels on device's screen :D Yeah, details were mad here...

Pocket PC, iPAQ, HP and Microsoft Windows logos and/or names belong to their respective owners, together with Ipaq 1940 handheld device design.

Comments highly appreciated, also feel free to ask questions if you have any.

I'll submit wireframe shortly (everything here is 100% 3d).

HP Ipaq 110 running solid after four years of intense usage and many many installations of programs, and just about anything that I could fit onto it to see what it could do. I use it more than I use my laptop because I can have my word processor, music, movies, and be organized wherever I am at.
